The 10th National School Chess Championship 2022 which began on 16th May 2022 at KIIT University Campus, Patia Bhubaneswar, Odisha concluded today evening successfully.
Altogether 1003 players from various school across India participated in the prestigious event in which 14 players from different schools of Andaman & Nicobar Islands have participated and done reasonably well.
In Boys sections, V Yashwant of Kamaraj School & Sayansh Jindal of Carmel School are the top scorers from Andaman who scored 5 points each out of 9 rounds. J.S Virat of VKV Port Blair scored 4.5 points, Shrihaan Karmakar of KV-2 scored 4 points, A Divesh of VKV Port Balir scored 3.5 points and K Harshit of Model Sr. Sec. School Port Blair and A Aarush of Carmel school scored 3 points each.
Similarly in girls section R. Kashthuri Bhai, a FIDE Rated players from GDMS is the top scorer among Andaman players who scored 5 points out of 9 rounds. Parnita of Carmel School scored 4 points, Kavya Raj of VKV scored 3.5 points , Tanisha Raj of VKV scored 3 points., Sri Raj & J Keerthana of VKV School scored 2.5 points and D Charvi, of under 7 girl scored 2 points.
Meanwhile B Neelaiah, PST, Education Department and Prem Kumari, of DHS officiated in this prestigious 10th National School Chess Championship 2022 as National Arbiters (NA) and secured their second norm for FIDE Arbiter Title.
